We need your help with the Faeria Wiki! Also, we need to talk about the current status of Pandora and what to expect next.

A new build-order strategy: The Forest Kick

Pandora Mode

Before we go any further, we need to be blunt:

Pandora and Premium cards will not make it into the game by April.

We know we've disappointed a lot of you here, but the fact is that the feature is simply not ready. We cannot, in good conscience, release an incomplete feature that we feel would not live up to the experience we are aiming to provide. We truly believe it is going to be worth the wait and we hope for your continued support in this. We aren't happy about not making our self-imposed deadline, but we had to make a decision that ends up being best for the game. Pandora does not meet our standards for release at this time.

We are often dancing a fine line between revealing just enough information to satisfy player curiosity, but still leaving enough hidden so that when we do release new content it retains enough surprising, exciting, and unexpected elements that players will enjoy. We hope you understand why we're keeping Pandora special and secret for now. It's our precious baby Yak that we've been nurturing for quite some time, and we want to make sure it's absolutely ready before releasing it into the wild. All of that said, we take full responsibility for getting anyone's hopes up too soon, and apologize for that. We'll continue to work hard and bring you the features we know you want, and make those features as cool, polished, and bug-free as possible.

The Fight for Pandora

We mentioned during The Egg event that there would be a special quest involving Pandora where you too could earn an Egg avatar in game. This quest will be titled "The Fight for Pandora," and will be a special event leading up to Pandora's release. Do your part in the fight to claim the mysterious Egg.

The Fight for Pandora will begin next week, with more details announced at that time.

April accomplishments

With the bad news out of the way, it's important for us to recognize what we did accomplish this past month. It all passed us by like an incredible blur. In addition to all of the following, we've expanded our development team by adding on David. David is our newest Client Developer and will also be doing some work on our network infrastructure.

Here is a brief list of what accomplished in April:

  • Our special "Invite a Friend" weekend event at the beginning of April was a great success. Remember the Yaks and fireworks?
  • Observer mode: The first iteration of Observer mode has been implemented in game. Not only did we implement the basic functionality for it, but we also developed related features such as displaying the opponent's hand and showing opponent target highlights. These features carried over into normal gameplay and improved the general interactivity when playing a game, as well as opening the door for us to introduce Card Backs in the future.
  • Language Localisation: Faeria now supports five additional languages. We still have some deficiencies to correct in this area, but with the help of our community we are getting there. The foundation is set for more languages in the future.
  • With the help of GamersOrigin, we both began and completed our first official tournament with cash prizes, the GO Faeria Clash. In order to do this, we developed in-game tournament features that lay the ground work for future events and formats. The time spent in this area will pay off heavily for us in the future. Along with this we held the special Egg and Dragon orb Twitch viewing event, something we would love to expand on, improve, and continue in the future.
  • We've finally got our Official Forums up and running. This was no small feat, as it required linking all Faeria accounts to the boards, but it now operates seamlessly.

Nothing in this list takes into account any balance adjustments or bug fixing, both of which take a lot of attention for the team to deal with properly. This is to be expected during our Early Access period, but is something worth mentioning.

Ladder Reset

Don't forget the Ranked ladder will be reset next Monday, and Season One will officially begin. Expect an announcement soon regarding the special plans we have involving the highest God ranks of Season One and on.

Current Top 30

As mentioned earlier, we will be releasing a full list of Gods at the end of the pre-season. For now, congratulations to the weekly Top 30!

Top 30

Once again, we apologize for missing our own deadline with Pandora. We do take this very seriously and will do everything we can to avoid such a situation in the future. We hope everything else we brought you this month makes up for it in some way, and we promise once Pandora does make it into the game that it won't disappoint you.
