(I hope this is a somewhat original idea. I was pretty successful with it.)
When you want to build a deck around Possessed Ursus, what comes to mind?
- Small self damage in the form of Falcon Dive and Famine
- Make the Ursus survive longer with Elderwood Embrace, Ruunin's Guidance
What is the weakness we still have?
- Removal.
What do all these cards have in common?
- They are events.
===> Add Aurora's Disciple as an alternative win condition!
The roles of the cards:
Falcon Dive, Famine: Damage Ursus, kill early collectors, kill high damage, low life creatures. You don't have creatures that can die from a single famine.
Hold the Line!: Prevents you from having no creatures to play, distracts creatures from killing your win-conditions.
Shamanic Dance, Ruunin's Guidance, Elderwood Embrace: Buff creatures on the front line.
Tethra: Buff that isn't an event, but can fight when you don't have a big creature on the board. 6/6 + 1/1 = Kill god in three turns.
Outland Ranger, Triton Chef: Collectors that bring a buff event with them.
Extra Triton Banquet: Movement ability is better the stronger the creature is. It helps you to flee, or hunt down the creatures you want.
Humbling Vision: Soften up creatures for your Ursus to eat. Kill 3-life creatures with 1 damage spells. Otherwise versatile spell.
Aurora's Disciple, Possessed Ursus: Your game winners.
~
Maybe you could take Tethra and the weird single Triton Banquet out and put Emperors Command in, or make some cards three that currently are two.
~
How to play: Collect some Faeria, slowly creep two lakes and two forests towards the enemy. I found sticking to one side helps. Then place some creatures with many buffs at once in the middle of the battlefield.
Play aggressive. Don't try to make your Ursus a 50/2. 10 attack is usually enough. 5 attack is two duplications away from a OTK. Don't attack the orb with the bear though, when you could kill a creature AND damage the orb in the next turn twice as much.
