Play style centers on Faeria control and pressure on opponents orb. I like to build 4 neutrals towards the hex above one of my wells and place a queen's guard there. They start collecting 2 faeria per turn. If I don't have that, underground brigands plus gift of steel bring in a huge amount of faeria. I like Queen's Guard, Brigand, and Gift of Steel in my starting hand.
Part of opening goals includes racing to opponents well for axe grinder as well as brigands/boss to hit orb and gain faeria. Attacking opponents orb aggressively helps your control game.
Other cards remove enemy creatures. Ignus isn't often included, but he can do amazing things for board control. Colossus also comes in for a handy win condition. Bloodstone Sprite could easily be replaced with another card, however it's a 4/4 that only takes 1 mountain so it ain't bad even if it's ability isn't getting used.
If opponent rushes I play defense and try to control both of my wells.
