This season I decided to do the full climb to god rank with a doomgate deck as I hadn't done it before. It went much faster than I expected and I was the fifth player to attain god rank, despite the deck being quite a slow, late-game deck. The deck is simply far stronger than I expected.
The inclusion of tiki piper and elderwood hermit makes the deck fairly resilient against decks containing red and it is not even that bad against burn. With dream getting nerfed, sac is in a very good spot in the meta.
A note in doomgate - most people think it is just a meme but it is actually a very, very strong card. On the most part you don't really care about summoning Ostregoth. Sac's main weakness is running out of cards which never happens when doomgate is on the board. It is also one card which can sacrifice multiple creatures so it's much rarer you get hands with all sac targets and no creatures. Frankly, I think the card is just a staple in the sac archetype.

Card inclusions, land development and a closer look at some of the key matchups. Still to write: Omitted cards, mulligans.
I just tried this deck, i’ve had doomgate for a while but never really tested it. It’s really fun, and the soul eaters are imba af.
